Darion's Love For Animals

Animals need love too!

Short posts

There way to long!

They're way to long!

Hi, I usually write big/long posts, so, I decided to write a short post on why I don’t write short posts.

The reason I do not write short posts is because, I always have a hard time choosing something that is a short subject, (like why I do not write short posts, bad openers, how to annoy people, why are parents change, etc…)
I like all those ideas but I know stuff is missing!
That is why I need your help to figure out what is missing.
Can you help me?
Please! Please! Please! Help me!
Thank you.

Hold up before I let you leave let me tell you to keep your eyes open for more short posts like this one.

How old is it?

A little while ago when my dad woke me up, I ran up the stairs from my room, quickly eating breakfast, brushing my hair (and all that morning stuff).

Just as I was ready to leave the house, my dad told me I still had 10 minutes before I had to go.

So I plopped down on the couch beside the stairs, I looked around the room, there on the arm of the couch was a toy doll.

The doll looked very, very old and well loved.

My dad who had been working on the computer  turn around to see me admiring the doll and I asked him “Who’s doll is this?”

His reply was, “It was Nana’s old doll but now it is yours.”

After school I saw my mom looking around I ask her “What are you looking for.”

I was shocked to hear “My doll, have you seen it?”

After a minute I told her it was in my room. Then my brother ran up to me and told me the phone was for me, I took it from him, smiled and put it up to my ear asking who it was I got a shocking reply of  “It is mama, Darion.”

Shocked I continued on “Why are you calling me?”

“Well I was wondering if got that doll I gave you?”

Now my head was really spinning, my mom thought the doll was her’s, but my grandma was giving it to me? “Hold on a minute let me talk to my mom.”

My mom hearing her name turned around and looked at me.

“Mom,” I ventured searching for the right words “mama says she was giving the doll to me.”

I stretched out my arms and waited for my mom to hand over the doll but instead of getting the doll  I got a serious reply, “It isn’t mama’s to give away! It is my doll, and I want to give it to my grandchildren, when I have some.”

Taking the phone to my ear once again I told my mama that my mom wanted to keep her doll and that I have no authority over her but that I care for the thoughtfulness and that I will see her soon.

After I hung up the phone I and asked my mom, “Were are you going to keep it?”

Looking up at me from the table my mom answered “In your room, if that’s okay?”

I nodded took the doll and walked off to put the doll in my baby bed that my grandfather had made me when I was really little.

Apparently the doll in 86 year old.

How old is the oldest toy you own?

Earthquakes are a threat…

How you should react to an earthquackeHow you should react to an earthquake.

…So here are some tips on how to avoid getting injured.

Earthquakes are a big threat to anyone who lives near the coast.

Here are some things you could do if you were at home when an earthquake takes place.

What to do:

  • find a table nearby
  • drop under it
  • cover your head and neck
  • hold on to the table leg
  • count to sixty slowly
  • wait until the shaking has stopped and a few minutes after the shaking has stopped or until an adult has given you further directions
  • calmly exit the building
  • go somewhere there is nothing that will fall on you (and no, the sky will not fall, so don’t be a Chicken Little)
  • wait until you receive help

What not to do:

  • don’t trust the triangle of life (The triangle of life was at one point said to be safer than drop, cover, hold on but that has been proven wrong the triangle of life is when you stand next to a bigger object and it was said that falling objects will fall next to you and you will end out in a triangle but life will still flow through you that’s how it got it’s name triangle of life but please don’t us it)
  • don’t run/leave the building during the quake
  • don’t go looking for something to hide under
  • don’t trust a doorway to keep you safe

What I would do if there was an earthquake when I was at home with my family. Is I would drop down to the floor covering my head and neck if there was a table or something sturdy that I could get under nearby I would crawl under it and wait until the shaking has stopped. Then I would count to sixty, then get up slowly and head out to my front yard where. I would meet the rest of my family on the road in front of my house.

The hazards that live in my house are:

  • computer shelf
  • book’s on book shelf
  • T.V.
  • chandelier
  • stuff on top of cupboards in kitchen

(In my room):

  • my book shelf
  • my lamp
  • barbie house (my grandpa made it for me)

Here are something to do if there’s an earthquake while you’re at school.

  • do the same as above

What not to do:

  • same as above

Live long, be safe!

Scarlett Chapter 2: Finding Mom

Do remember what just happened? If this is the first time you have read any of my Scarlett posts, then here are the links to the Prologue and Chapter 1.

“Have any of you seen my mom? Anyone? Anyone at all!” I was growing inpatient.

“No darling, we haven’t. But we will let you know if we find her,” a medium horse sympathized.

My shoulders dropped as I turned away.  A new voice spoke up and all the other horse turned to hear what the new horse had to say.

“Their  is hope still,” the new voice added “you see down at the other end of the field, that’s Sapphire.  She is old but is very wise, and she might know what happened to your mom.” The horse turned away and trotted off.

As I turned tails and started off, I realized Leaf was not with me. I turned back to see the tip of  Leaf’s tail vanish into the broken down barn. I feared that all the horses from here to the wild west could hear my heart beat racing, first my mom then my only friend! I had to see who was behind this. So with caution I followed…

Cliffhanger!

Yum! Food!

I have the best cook ever living in my house. My mom! Well, that’s my point of view.

Is one of your parents a really good cook?

Here are some of the dishes that make my mouth drool. Think about putting this in bullet points.

  • Have you ever had a gooey, melt-in-your-mouth, home made pizza crust before? My mom makes the perfect crust.
  • If there is any thing better than lasagna, then I need to know because my mom makes it scrumptious.
  • My Favorite Food

    My Favorite Food

Have you ever eaten something that you thought you could eat forever? Well, I have. It’s call sushi for me.

  • What’s yummier better home cure than home made stew.
  • Homemade carrot ginger bread muffin are like dessert!

“Hey!” says my dad, then he adds “Not only your mother can cook.”

I roll my eyes, but he is right: he is a very good cook.

Can your dad make chili to die for, and he is the one who makes the sushi in my house.

“Yes dad, you do make good Kraft Dinner.

So does my mom. (Shh! don’t tell my dad!)

Happy eating.

Strange parents

Strange at a young age

Strange at a young age

Are your parents strange? Well, mine are but they are also super cool. Here are some things that make me roll my eyes but at the same time make me laugh.

  1. A little awhile ago my mom went shopping for cat food and she saw that bird feed was way cheaper than cat food so she made a joke. “I bought the bird feed and sprinkled it on the yard and let the cats out.” (Your cats like to hunt).
  2. The other day my mom came to pick me up from school and as we walked to the car she started to sing the Barney theme song (I Love You). I was super humiliated!
  3. Not long ago my dad’s old friends came over and at the dinner table the adults had a debate about short memory (my dad and his friend) and long memory (my mom) it was so strange.

Zoom! Zoom!

Young and healthy

Young and healthy

Hi, my name is Zoom Zoom and I am a Cheetah. You can call me Zoom if you want, but it doesn’t have the ring to it. I have a sister named Zoom Zoom Zoom. I go exploring a lot so we get lost a lot. Right now the only thing I know about where I am is I’m on a rock.

Thank you.
I can hardly wait to see the story you have for me.

Hi, this is no longer Zoom Zoom who is talking. It is Darion, and this is a zoom post. On a zoom post you are supposed to carry on the story the writer has started because they never finished, so that is your job.

Here are the ideas, you are supposed to read the comments that everyone else has writen and then leave the next part of the story.

Scarlett: Chapter 1: Missing Mom

Hi, this is the first chapter of my story Scarlett. Have you read the prologue? If not, then here is the link: Scarlett

Chapter 1

My eyes shot open. I looked around for Violet, my best friend. But all I saw was my mom whinnying into the woods. I strained my ears to hear who she was calling to and then I realized I would never see Violet again. I was in a fenced-off field. My mom was calling for help. I finished scanning the field for any other horses. I saw lots of other horses but none from my father’s herd.

I cantered from were where I stood over to a young horse who looked like she was around my age. As I came closer, she looked at me, her gaze burning into my fur coat. I got a little squirmy as she padded over to me. I closed my eyes in fright, then it went quiet. I thought she had padded away.

I nearly jumped out of my fur as a voice whinnied, “Hi there. You’re new aren’t you? If you have any questions come to me and I will show you who can answer your questions.”

As I peeled open my eyes, I froze in fear for her face was utterly destroyed. “Wh-wh-what h-happened to your f-f-f-face!” I sputtered on the words.

She turned her head away. Then after a few minutes she muttered. “You are afraid, aren’t you?”

“I am sorry to offend you. I was just wou-” But before I had time to finished she galloped off. “I did not get a chance to ask your name!” I shouted out. Even if she heard it, she did not turn back to answer.

The sun was now high. It scorched into my fur as I rammed myself against the fence over and over again trying to get free. That’s when I heard a whinny of laughter from behind me. I turned around to see that same filly who I had been talking  to earlier that day.

“What are laughing at?” I made a sharp remark that I instantly wanted to take back, but it was too late.

“Cool your jets?” She whinnied in a friendly tone. “I was just wondering what your name was. Mine’s Leaf Of The Tall Oak. You can call me Leaf”

“Oh sorry for my tone. I am just getting more and more nervous. My name is Scarlett. Have you seen my mom?”

“No. I think she’s escaped.”

“Oh great! She left me! After everything.”

“Let’s go talk to some other horses and find out what they know,” Leaf offered willingly.

We turned and together we cantered off to where most of the other horses where gathered, sharing gossip.

Come back next month for the next chapter. It will be super cool.

Dragon’s Life

Hi there. You want to enter a dragon’s world? Then you should read this post about the beginning of dragon parenthood.

As the suns set, their rays hit the dragon’s scales. They sparkled as she bent her long elegant neck to her oldest newborn child, the joy making wrinkles around her eyes. The food swayed in her powerful jaws. Her daughter looked at the food with wide eyes. The mother gave her the name Sandstorm. Her daughter took the food.

The mother looked at the father. He stopped digging to nod his approval of the name before bending his neck down again to continue digging. He continued fearfully, for two of their eggs lay trapped beneath the sand the fear creased deeper in his wrinkles.

The mother’s thoughts started to wander but her attention was snapped back to the real world as a squeak was let out. She whipped her head around to see another one of her children had hatched  from its shell into the outer world. This time, a boy. She decided to name it Fireheart after her great, great, great, great, great, great grandpa who died 700 year ago.

She decided that this would be a great 1000 years.

Look at the  picture below for it is the picture of the dragon family that inspired me to write this post.
