Your story of the doll is really heartwarming! I think your mom actually intended for you to have that doll. She’s very thoughtful. Saying that it will be for her grandchildren (your children, that is) is a very heroic thing to do since you can’t just give away something as precious (an as old, that can pass as an antique). My oldest treasure would have to be an 18th century coin that was given to me by a dear friend who’s 80 years my senior!
